Wire layers into a Compositor
This node takes a finished, flattened ad (a JPEG off a competitor's feed, an
export with no source file, a screenshot) and hands back the pieces it was
assembled from. Connect the Layers (JSON) output to a Compositor's
Layers (JSON) input and the whole ad opens as a stack of editable layers.
Ad image -> Ad Delayer --Layers (JSON)--> Compositor
Leave the Compositor's own layer list empty and its stage will size itself to the ad. You do not need to wire the plate separately, because the erased background comes through as one of the layers at the bottom of the stack, but the Background plate output is there on its own handle if you want it somewhere else.
What comes apart
- the flat colour the ad sits on, as a rectangle you can recolour
- the background photo with the product and copy erased, not covered
- the product and any logo, as transparent cutouts
- each block of copy, with its own box
Swap your own product cutout in over theirs and you have the same proven layout carrying your thing.
Live text vs original letterforms
Text is the one setting, and it decides what the copy comes back as.
Live text (editable), the default, returns real text layers: the words, the nearest matching font, the size, weight, colour, tracking and alignment the ad used. Double-click one in the Compositor and retype it. This is what you want when the point is to put your own headline on their layout.
Original letterforms (image) returns each block as a picture of the type instead. Nothing is re-typable, but nothing drifts either. Custom faces, hand lettering and logotypes stay exactly as drawn. Reach for it when the type IS the brand.
Font matching is a match, not the original file. If the ad used something licensed or hand-drawn, live text will land on the closest available face and look slightly off; that is the trade, and it is why the other mode exists.
What the node itself shows
The card's thumbnail is a grid of the pieces it separated, so you can tell at a glance whether the cutouts are clean without opening the Compositor. The Background plate output is a different image: the ad with its subject and copy removed. That one looks nearly empty on purpose, which is why it is not what the card displays.
Cost
One flat charge per ad, whatever the image size, however many layers come back, in either text mode.
